Tema Chapter Commissions Conference Room and Residential Building
A Milestone Achievement for the Credit Union Movement in Ghana
In a significant boost to the Credit Union Association of Ghana’s infrastructure, the Tema
Chapter has proudly commissioned two impressive new facilities: a beautifully refurbished
conference room and a modern two-storey residential building.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on Wednesday 16th May 2025, marked the culmination of
months of dedicated planning and execution under the leadership of the current Chapter
Chairman, Dr. Paul Owusu Donkor. The event was attended by credit union leaders from across
the region, members, and stakeholders who came together to celebrate this achievement.
The newly renovated conference room stands as a testament to the chapter’s commitment to
professional development and collaboration. Equipped with contemporary furnishings and
technology, the space is now ready to host executive board meetings, financial literacy
workshops, member training sessions and community engagement events
Complementing this is the impressive two-storey residential facility, featuring three spacious
bedrooms on each floor. This thoughtfully designed building will serve as comfortable
accommodation for the regional manager and provide housing for visiting credit union officials
and members during extended training programs or events.
Leadership with Vision
“This milestone represents more than just upgraded facilities – it’s about creating spaces where
our credit union community can thrive,” remarked the Tema Chapter Chairman. “These new
developments reflect our commitment to strengthening the credit union movement in Ghana
through infrastructure that supports our mission.”
The Chairman acknowledged the foundation laid by previous leadership and the collective
effort of the chapter’s membership that made this achievement possible. “None of this would
have been possible without the tremendous support of my predecessors and the unwavering
commitment of our entire Tema Chapter membership,” he added.
The new facilities align with CUA’s broader mission to enhance financial inclusivity and
member services across Ghana. By investing in infrastructure, the Tema Chapter demonstrates
how local leadership can create lasting value for the credit union movement.
These developments come at a time when credit unions are increasingly recognized as vital
institutions for community economic empowerment and financial stability in Ghana.
